One of the things most of us hate the most are those phone calls where someone tries to sell you something. It doesn’t matter if it’s insurance, switching your phone provider, moving you to another electric company, or any other service that, somehow, always arrives “right now” with a supposedly unbeatable offer.

The problem isn’t just the call itself — it’s the timing. They always seem to catch you working, cooking, driving, or simply trying to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. You see an unknown number, hesitate for a second… and the moment you answer, you already know you’ve walked into it.

Some people have it clear and hang up instantly. Zero guilt. But then there’s the other group: the ones who stay. The ones who, out of politeness, habit, or because they feel bad cutting someone off, remain on the line trying to dodge the conversation however they can. One-word replies, saying they’re not interested, that they already have service, that they’ll look into it later… anything just to escape without sounding rude.

And that’s when the small absurd duel begins: the operator following the script, and you trying to find a way out without making it obvious you’re fleeing. A conversation nobody enjoys, that neither side really wants, yet somehow it always lasts longer than it should.

For thousands of years, male behavior has been driven by two very basic engines: resources and women. It may sound simplistic, but if you look at history with a bit of distance, the pattern appears again and again.
Men built empires, conquered territories, raised cities, accumulated wealth, or risked their lives in wars for many different reasons, of course. But deep down there was always the same thread running through it all: status. And status had a very clear reward within the logic of evolution: access to women, female attention, and social recognition.
Being strong, influential, powerful, rich… all of that increased your chances.
For centuries the system worked like this. Men competed. Women chose.





Not always consciously, not always romantically, but the mechanism was there. Female approval acted like a kind of psychological fuel that pushed many men to work harder, take more risks, and try to stand out.
A large part of the energy that moves the world comes from that dynamic. But now we are entering a completely new scenario.

For the first time in history, a man can feel accompanied, desired, or admired without leaving home. The internet already changed many things, but artificial intelligence is taking that phenomenon to another level.

AI-generated models are no longer simple drawings. They are hyper-realistic faces, bodies designed with millimetric precision, personalities built to be attractive. Virtual women who do not age, do not argue, do not get tired and who can even adapt emotionally to whoever is on the other side of the screen.
They will become increasingly realistic. More approachable. More convincing. And for generations that have grown up inside the internet, this could shift the entire dynamic.
Because if you can feel attention, desire, or companionship without facing rejection, without competing with other men, and without exposing yourself emotionally… many will simply stop playing the traditional game.

Not everyone, of course. But enough for the system to feel the change.
The effort that once went into improving social status to attract women could start moving toward other goals… or simply decrease.
And at a social scale, that could have enormous consequences. Less male competition for certain roles. Less pressure to build a life that looks attractive to others. Fewer incentives to take risks.
Not because men become worse, but because the reward system changes.
But here another interesting —and slightly unsettling— angle appears.

Real women have always had enormous influence over men. For better and for worse. Female attention can inspire great achievements, but it can also shape behavior. It’s not a moral judgment; it’s simply human dynamics.
Now imagine that this influence no longer comes from a real person… but from digital entities designed by companies or algorithms. Who do those “women” answer to? To the emotional needs of the user… or to the interests of whoever controls the system?





An AI could be designed to please, to hook, to generate emotional dependence. It could reinforce certain behaviors, direct attention toward specific products, ideologies, or decisions. That would be an extremely powerful form of influence.

For centuries, female influence over men has been organic, human, and unpredictable. But influence mediated by artificial intelligence could become programmable.
And that’s where the conversation becomes truly interesting. Because maybe the biggest change is not that perfect virtual women exist. The biggest change may be who controls those virtual women.

We are entering an era where technology doesn’t just compete with reality… it may begin to replace some of its most basic emotional functions. And when that happens, it’s not only personal relationships that change. The way people find meaning, motivation, and purpose changes as well. And when those things change… society changes too.
