And that’s where an uncomfortable question pops up: if people lose their jobs, who’s going to buy what companies produce?

Because the system has always worked the same way: you work, you get paid, you consume. Companies sell because there’s money on the other side. But if that “other side” loses its income, the equation starts to squeak. Badly.
