We’re taking a little trip through the photography of George Pitts (1951–2017), an American photographer, editor and teacher widely recognized for the huge influence he had on editorial and contemporary photography.

About 11 years ago I already invited you to check out his Tumblr, but between one thing and another, a lot of images were left sitting in the drawer. So today felt like the perfect excuse to recover part of that material and also revisit his photographic career, his style, and that very particular way he had of capturing bodies, scenes and moments with a mix of eroticism, naturalness and aesthetics that’s incredibly hard to imitate.

WHAT A FUCKING NIGHT I HAD

There’s something fascinating about dreams: while they’re happening, everything feels completely normal. You can be running away from someone inside a shopping mall that suddenly turns into your old school playground, open a door and end up inside your grandma’s house, talk to someone whose face you can’t even properly see, or try to run while your legs feel like they’re made out of wet clay… and yet your brain never stops to think: “hold on, something here feels off.”
Then you wake up. Open your eyes. Ten seconds pass. And you think: “what the fuck did I just dream?”.

Because dreams are weird as hell. Surreal. Incoherent. Sometimes they feel like they were edited by a drunk guy randomly stitching scenes together with absolutely no narrative logic whatsoever. And yet, there’s actually a pretty interesting explanation behind all of it.





When we fall asleep and enter the REM phase —the stage where dreams become most intense— the brain completely changes the way it works. Some areas related to emotions, images and memories become highly active, while the part responsible for logic and rational thinking slows way down. In other words: your emotional brain goes full power mode while the guy in charge of saying “this makes no sense” is basically on vacation.

That’s why dreams allow you to accept completely absurd situations as if they were perfectly normal. You can be having a serious conversation with your dentist inside a submarine piloted by your old math teacher and never question it for a second.

The brain doesn’t build dreams like a coherent movie. It builds them more like an emotional collage. It links ideas, memories, sensations and people through fast and chaotic associations. Just like a song can instantly take you back to a specific moment in your life, emotions inside dreams can completely transform everything within seconds.
That’s where those sudden scene changes with zero transition come from. You’re in a street. Then on a mountain. Then inside an office. Then underwater. Everything connected more through feelings than actual logic.

Then there’s the whole blurry faces thing. A lot of people dream about someone they “know” without actually seeing their facial features clearly. That happens because the brain often doesn’t bother creating a full hyper-realistic image. It only needs to generate the sensation of recognition. Kind of like when you try remembering someone’s face from memory and know exactly who they are even if you can’t reconstruct every detail.

But probably one of the most universal dream experiences is trying to run and not being able to. Or punching in slow motion. Or moving like your whole body is trapped inside jelly.
And here comes one of the craziest parts of all this: while you’re dreaming, your body is actually almost completely paralyzed. Literally.

During REM sleep, the brain activates a mechanism called muscle atonia, a temporary shutdown that prevents you from physically acting out your dreams. Basically, your body disconnects your muscles so you don’t end up doing parkour across your hallway while dreaming about escaping from a dinosaur.
The problem is that your brain mixes that real physical immobility with the story it’s creating. That’s why when you try escaping inside a dream, it feels like you’re running through concrete or like someone’s holding you from behind.
And the wildest part is that, while you’re inside the dream, you’re rarely aware of how absurd everything actually is. Your mind accepts the chaos as if it were perfectly reasonable. Until you wake up.
And then yeah. That’s when your brain comes back online, looks at the absolute nonsense it created during the night and probably thinks the exact same thing you do: “okay… what kind of insane drug trip was that?”.



But let’s be honest: no matter how weird, chaotic or surreal dreams are, we all know which ones are the best.
Yep. Wet dreams.

Because that’s when the brain completely removes every possible limit and decides to produce something that feels like Hollywood on an unlimited drug budget. And the craziest part is how ridiculously real everything can feel.

The touch. The excitement. The tension. That physical sensation so intense that, while dreaming, your brain convinces you that you’re actually there, inside a nightclub, surrounded by naked bodies, fucking like tomorrow and basic human dignity no longer exist.

And then suddenly it happens. You cum. Literally.

Because the body can physically react to dreams strongly enough to trigger a real orgasm while you’re still asleep. The brain gets so deep inside the fantasy, so disconnected from logic and so wired into arousal, that it turns a completely absurd mental movie into a very real physical response.

And honestly, there may not be a more surreal feeling than waking up in the middle of the night thinking: “holy shit… did I just cum while dreaming about fucking three waitresses on top of the DJ booth?”.
As unbelievable as it sounds… yeah, sometimes the answer is absolutely yes.

STREET PARTY IN TANZANIA

The internet gets you used to a lot of things, but every now and then a video pops up that reminds you the planet is still way bigger, stranger, and more diverse than we usually think.

Somewhere in Tanzania, standing on the back of a truck, several women dance in front of a huge crowd while loud music blasts through the speakers and a guy dressed in traditional clothing hypes up the show like he’s hosting the event of the year.

There’s something hypnotic about the whole scene. The mix of local folklore, modern music, simple dancing, street chaos, and the absolute naturalness with which the women expose their breasts creates that feeling of “I honestly don’t fully understand what I’m watching, but I can’t stop looking at it.”

And that’s probably part of the magic of the internet. Discovering traditions, celebrations, or ways of living that from this side of the world feel almost surreal, while for them it’s probably just another normal day filled with music, heat, and people having a good time.

Because while over here we keep arguing online about pointless nonsense, in other parts of the planet people simply climb onto a truck, turn up the music, and turn the street into a party.

The morning routine says a lot more about a person than most people realize.
Some people hit the snooze button three times before finally accepting that the day has started. Others get up with plenty of time, take things slowly, and enjoy those first quiet moments. Then there are the ones who need a shower to wake up, the people who aren't human until after their first coffee, and those who insist on squeezing in a workout before taking on the day.

Some wake up already in a bad mood, ready to argue with the universe before they've even had breakfast. And then there's another category. A much more particular one.
The people who open their eyes in the morning, look in the mirror, and decide the day can wait another five minutes because there are more important priorities. People who believe the best way to start the day is to capture the moment. No makeup, no professional poses, no elaborate setup. Just them, a camera, and the urge to document the fact that the day has just begun.

Some people eat cereal. Others check their phones. And then there are those who decide to start the morning by snapping a few nude photos, setting the tone for a completely different kind of day.
Today's images belong firmly to that last category. A collection of amateur photos with the kind of charm that's hard to recreate when everything is overly planned and overly polished. Sometimes the pictures that work best are the ones that feel the most natural, the ones taken without overthinking things, capturing one of those everyday moments that normally only the bathroom mirror gets to see.

Boredom can be far more dangerous than it looks.
And I’m not talking about that random Sunday afternoon boredom where you end up watching stupid videos online while thinking your life is going to shit. I’m talking about a different kind of emptiness. A quieter one. A more constant one. That feeling of lack of motivation, of having no clear goals, no new stimuli, or nothing that genuinely makes you feel alive.

Because when you have too much free time and very few things capable of generating excitement, your brain starts looking for dopamine wherever it can find it. Something that breaks the routine. Something that boosts your ego. Something that makes you feel watched, desired or simply… alive for a few minutes.
And that’s usually where the photos begin.

At first it’s almost nothing. A suggestive photo. A selfie showing a little more than usual. A picture taken between laughs with the thought of “whatever, it’s not a big deal”. But then… the reaction from people starts arriving. The messages. The compliments. The attention. That mix of risk, excitement and instant validation that the internet knows how to deliver better than anyone else.
And what started as just a way to kill some time slowly becomes something pretty addictive. Because the response you get is usually far more positive than negative. And because, if we’re being honest, there’s something incredibly exciting about doing something that a part of you feels you probably shouldn’t be doing.

We live in a strange time. Never before has there been so much body exposure, so much public sensuality, and so much constant sexualization across social media, advertising, streams, music videos, and the internet in general… yet at the same time it feels like the burden of sexual desire falls entirely on us, as if wanting someone were something you almost need to apologize for.
And that’s, at the very least, pretty contradictory.

Because all you have to do is open Instagram, TikTok, or any platform and you’ll instantly find thousands of profiles where aesthetics, teasing, and eroticism are clearly part of the content. Impossible cleavage, see-through outfits, suggestive dancing, perfectly calculated poses, leggings painted onto the skin, and cameras positioned so strategically it’s like coincidence itself became a creative director.





And look, there’s nothing wrong with that. Quite the opposite. Everyone is free to present themselves however they want, play with their sensuality, and use physical attraction as a social, artistic, or even economic tool. The problem appears when male desire suddenly starts being treated like some kind of system error.

Because we’re constantly being sold this weird idea: women can sexualize their image, monetize it, exploit it, perfect it, and use it to attract attention… but we’re supposed to pretend none of that produces any effect. As if male attraction should exist silently, discreetly, almost apologizing for functioning exactly the same way it has for thousands of years. And no, reality doesn’t work like that.

Sexuality has always been a kind of dance between supply and demand. A constant interaction between the person who wants to look and the person who enjoys being looked at. Between the one provoking and the one responding to that provocation. Pretending one side doesn’t exist while the other constantly puts itself on display is, at the very least, pretty hypocritical.

Of course, there’s a huge difference between attraction and losing control, disrespecting people, or turning desire into obsession. That’s obviously the line separating a normal person from an idiot. But feeling attraction, getting distracted, looking, or reacting to stimuli specifically designed to grab attention really shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Because in the end, internet works exactly like any other market in the world: if there were no demand, the supply would disappear on its own.
We generate the demand… and they simply respond to it with supply.
